Born and raised in
Salt Lake City, Camille Nelson is the youngest of 6 children. Both
parents were formally trained in music, her father a violist and her mother
a professional opera singer. This love of music was passed through her
siblings and onto Camille. At age 6 Camille discovered the violin. At age 15
she received a guitar for her birthday and has been singing her songs ever
since.
Camille documents her work on
First Words, a collection of songs spanning the first 12 years of a
lifelong journey inside the human spirit. Working with acclaimed Nashville
producer Giles Reaves and steeped in her love of travel, the album has a
broad world influence much in the same manner as
Sting or U2.
With First Words Camille Nelson lays the foundation for the listener to roam
among the people and places that have had such an impact on her.
Besides music, Camille hosts a treasure of other activities including
operating a marketing firm and working with several
non-profit organizations.
She holds a BA in Communications, an MPA and is currently teaching German at
the local University. Also an accomplished athlete Camille has participated
in several triathlons and marathons and has ran the
Boston Marathon and the
Great Wall Marathon respectively.
First Words is slated for release
January 2009.
